Welcome to another addition of Local Feature Tuesdays! We are pleased to showcase Rivercorp this week as our local business. They are a wonderful organization who’s mission is to better the lives of Campbell River residents through many different ventures. Here is a little bit more about RIvercorp below.
The Campbell River Economic Development Corporation, known to locals as Rivercorp, collaborates with local leaders, businesses and community organizations to determine economic advantages, grow businesses, and attract visitors to the region. Rivercorp is also responsible for tourism promotion, which it does through Tourism Campbell River and Region and the Campbell River Visitor Centre.
Rivercorp’s primary economic development role is to inform potential investors and the private sector about opportunities in the community; facilitate meetings and interactions between appropriate parties; and work to create an environment that is favourable to investment. Rivercorp’s current strategic priorities include: revitalizing the industrial tax base; retaining and growing the commercial tax base; improving Campbell River and Region as a tourism destination; and working with partners to advance key community development projects.
Tourism Campbell River & Region promotes the north central Vancouver Island region to external tourism markets. Tourism Campbell River & Region uses traditional and social media and trade shows to promote the vibrant BC coastal communities of Campbell River, Gold River, Sayward, Tahsis, Zeballos, Quadra Island, and Cortes Island, as well as the Discovery Islands archipelago and the west coast of British Columbia.
The Campbell River Visitor Centre promotes the Campbell River region to internal tourism markets. The Campbell River Visitor Centre develops tourism promotion programs for local tourism businesses and provides visitors with friendly, accurate information about upcoming events, accommodations, adventure tours, attractions, activities, and restaurants in the region. Recognized as a leader in visitor services the Campbell River Visitor Centre consistently exceeds visitor expectations.
Rivercorp, through its economic development and tourism divisions, strives to nurture regional pride, focus economic development on sustainable principles, create a culture of entrepreneurship, and position Campbell River and region as a premier place to live, work, play and invest.
